SMS Online User Guide – Wildjar

Introduction to SMS

B1300’s SMS platform allows you to communicate with your customers using SMS messages, market your promotions using SMS campaigns, manage contact lists, and track campaign delivery and opt-outs using the campaign reporting.

Send and receive SMS messages using the B1300 SMS Portal. Communicate with your customers in bulk using the Bulk Campaign Feature

Don't lose contact with your clients or prospects, allow customers to call you back on the number you sent the SMS from. You can also add advanced routing functions like call overflow and voice2email to assist with call handling.
  1. Contact Management
Upload a list of contact phone numbers or dynamically create a list based on calls to your tracking numbers. Our list cleaning tool also automatically removes any duplicates and invalid numbers from your contacts.
  1. Automatic opt-outs
Any opt-outs will be automatically removed from your contact list.
  1. Scheduling
Send your campaigns now or automatically schedule for a specific time and date.
  1. View Delivery Reports
View and download the delivery reports for your campaigns, including opt-outs and replies.

SMS Inbox

You can find the SMS Inbox by navigating to SMS > Inbox from the Main Menu.

In the left-hand column, you'll see your recent SMS conversations, including the caller and mobile number the SMS was sent to. The search box allows you to filter conversations by the customer’s number, your mobile number or by name.

Click on a sender to view the whole conversation in the conversation viewer:
 


For replies, you'll also see the user the SMS was sent by. If the SMS reply was sent by email, the email address of the sender will be shown.

Replying to an SMS Conversation

You can also reply instantly to the conversation by entering text at the bottom of the conversation viewer and clicking Reply. 


Sending a Single SMS

How to start an SMS conversation

You can start a one-to-one SMS conversation using the below steps:

1. Navigate to SMS > Inbox
2. Click New SMS
3. From the Sender drop down, select a mobile or SMS-enabled number to send from:

 

4. Enter the recipient's mobile number in the Target field.
5. Enter the content of your SMS in the Message text box. There is a counter on the right-hand side of the text box to show you how many characters you've used and how many SMS parts the message needs to be sent in.


 
Note: A single SMS consists of a maximum of 160 characters. If the SMS exceeds 160 characters, each part is considered a separate SMS with a maximum of 153 characters per section). 

6. Click Send SMS.

Your SMS will now be sent! 
Any replies to your message will be shown in the SMS Inbox as well as forwarded to the email address associated with SMS mobile number you sent from.

Create an SMS Campaign

How to send SMS Campaign

1. Navigate to SMS > Send.
2. Enter the details for your campaign:

  1. Name - The name of your campaign.
  2. Identification Code - An internal reference to identify your campaign.
  3. Sender - Select the outbound mobile number to send your campaign from.
  4. Account - The account in which the mobile number is setup.
  5. Content - Enter the text for your campaign as well as an opt-out message (required by law). The counter will show how many characters you have used. If you exceed 160 characters, the message will count as multiple SMS messages.
  6. Targets - List of numbers you would like to send the SMS campaign to.



3. Click on Next.

Here you can send a test message by using the preview number box or schedule the time and date you would like the message to be sent. The Preview of the message and an estimate of the campaign cost is shown. 



 4. Click "Send Now" or set a future time for your campaign and click "Schedule"

Your SMS campaign will now be sent or scheduled for sending at the configured date.
Replies to SMS campaigns are accessible through your B1300 Portal by navigating to SMS > Inbox and are also being forwarded to the nominated email.

How to view SMS Campaign Reports

1. Navigate to SMS > Bulk Reports to show you the list of recent SMS campaigns,  the date they were sent and the results of the campaign
2. The text or the message you sent will show when you click the Name of the Campaign



Exporting campaign reports

You can also export the full delivery report for your campaigns to a CSV file by clicking [Export]

Creating an SMS contact list

The Campaign list is where you can import and manage mobile phone numbers, and save them for use with your SMS Campaign.
To set up a contact list for use with your SMS campaigns, please follow the below steps:
1. Navigate to SMS > Campaign List.
2. Click on "Create a new List"
3. Enter details for the contact list.

 
  1. Name - Name the list of contacts.
  2. Account – Which SMS account would you like to link this list to
  3. Target Input - Add the mobile numbers for this list. When you select [Add Numbers], the system will update the recipient mobile number with the Australian Country Code (61)
  4. Upload a list of targets instead of adding numbers one-by-one, upload a .txt file of mobile numbers. Ensure to add the country code for each mobile number before you upload the list

4. Click Save.

Our list cleaning tool also automatically removes any duplicates and invalid numbers from your contacts.
You have successfully created a contact list. Once done, all created lists are accessible to edit or delete.

Forward inbound SMS to an email address

  1. Notifications of your incoming SMS messages sent to your Virtual Mobile Number will be forwarded to the nominated email address(es) 
  2. SMS inbound configuration is also required for compliance purposes to track opt-out requests.
  3. SMS messages sent to a Mobile Tracking Number are accessible in the portal SMS Inbox and can be forwarded to an email address.
 

SMS Inbound configuration

1. Navigate to [Numbers] on your main left-hand menu,.
2. Select the SMS Mobile Number.
3. Select the [SMS/MMS routing] option then enter, add, or edit the email address you would like the inbound SMS to be forwarded to.
 

 
4. Click Save.

If you respond to the email, your reply will be sent as an SMS (normal per SMS cost applies).
 

Email2SMS

You can also send an SMS to your customers from your email account. The sender email address must be the email address configured to your SMS mobile service.
